that all promote healthy living, balanced nutrition, and exercise.
American Dietetic Association
Nutritional education and information to provide basic nutrition knowledge
in order to make smart food choices and develop good eating habits.
Shape Up America
This is a non-profit organization dedicated to achieving a healthy weight
for life.
American Council on Exercise
A non-profit organization that emphasizes an active, healthy lifestyle,
which has a positive effect on the mind, body, and spirit. They inform
the public about the benefits of physical activity and also alert the
public about unsafe and ineffective fitness products and fads.
American Diabetes Association
The ADA is the nation’s leading non-profit health organization that
provides diabetes information, research, and advocacy. Their site includes
recipes, tips, nutritional guidelines, and diabetes information.
American Heart Association
The AHA is a national voluntary health agency. Their mission is to decrease
disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Their site
features dietary recommendations, health tools, and how to achieve a healthy
lifestyle.
Wheat Foods Council
They are a national non-profit organization created to increase awareness
of dietary grains as an essential part to a healthy diet. Their site includes
recipes, links, health tools, and of course, grain information.
